Background
In the Auckland High Court, Justice Williams condemned Clark's offending in his sentencing remarks. He said the young men Clark abused were vulnerable and dependant on him. A pre-sentence report noted Clark's lack of contrition and complete lack of motivation to address the causes of his offending. The report said Clark remained a "very high risk of reoffending". A psychological report described Clark as cunning and that he continues to minimize, deny his offending and blames his victims. The Court of Appeal later upheld his indefinite sentence which he got for the sex offences against his cellmate.
