Background
The Auckland High Court was told a psychiatric report noted Cruller was primarily attracted to transvestites and females. He also continued protesting his innocence. Both a psychiatrist and psychologist both found Cruller was not suffering from any mental disorder, although he suffered depression in the past and had made attempts at self harm. A psychological report opinioned he would remain at high risk of violent sexual reoffending if released into the community given he did not received any or any adequate treatment.
