A 48 year old machine operator was convicted in the High Court at Gisborne and jailed for life for the shotgun murder of his 18 month old grandson. The jury deliberated for an hour before finding Timothy Kaiwai guilty of murdering James Wayne Kaiwai, at his home in Te Karaka on April 25.
