The complainants were children he befriended. The Crown Prosecutor, Phillip Hamlin, said many of the counts were representative or sample charges and involved innumerable sexual violations over a number of years. The offences included rape, sodomy, oral sex and indecent assault. He called for a sentence of preventive detention, saying there was a real risk of reoffending.
