Pikia drove dangerously along an Invercargill street losing control of his vehicle hitting the victim as she walked home from work on the footpath. After stopping and apologising to her and helping her find her glasses. Pikia offered to drive the victim to hospital but instead took her away without her consent. Pikia demanded the victim's wallet and handbag, punched and throttled her.
