Randle pounded Ms McKenzie's head with rocks, punches and kicks, leaving her in a state equivalent to someone who had been in an aircraft crash or high speed collision. After the crime he made every effort to hide his involvement, destroying evidence, lying to police and at trial trying to blame the murder on girlfriend (name withheld). Randle showed absolutely no remorse and continued to deny the crimes, making rehabilitation unlikely and creating a high risk of future serious, violent offending, Justice Young said.
