"A High Court jury in Dunedin has found Gareth Lawrence Smither of murdering his girlfriend. Smither, aged 26, was sentenced to mandatory life imprisonment for killing Karen Rachel Jacobs, a young mother whose battered body was found in her bedroom on July 4."
