Background
NZ Herald story here and here
This TVNZ story has a very informative video clip attached to it. The victim’s family speaks out. Lawyer Tony Ellis who is campaigning for Sam Te Hei, his brother and up to 200 other criminals to get compensation for their mistreatment in prison also speaks out - and more interviews....
Parole Board decision documented here
Whilst in prison he has had a significant record of misconduct and incidents during his sentence, although not as bad as his brother Warren Charles Te Hei.. Sam Te Hei has had many IDU offences while inside. He is likely to be transferred from Paremoremo back to Mangaroa Prison so he can be close to his whanau.
Sam Te Hei has been in custody since June 1987
