The Sensible Sentencing Trust says their DVD, New Zealand – “A Land fit for Criminals” has exceeded all expectations.
Trust Spokesman Garth McVicar said the DVD which was mailed to SST members plus all politicians, service clubs and members of the Judiciary last week has created a massive workload for voluntary workers responsible for receipting and replying to incoming mail.
"The response has far exceeded our expectations – and it has only been in the public arena for less than a week."
McVicar said the DVD was produced solely for the purpose of exposing the corrupt ideology that has allowed New Zealand to become such a violent nation.
"It includes interviews with victims of some of this countries worst crimes and is a candid insight into the lives of those left behind when a loved one is murdered."
"The DVD is a chilling but factual account of how for decades, civil servants and various Ministers of the Crown have deceived the public as they have progressively implemented policies that have allowed society to become more violent."
McVicar said this deception is continuing today and the intention of the DVD was to encourage people to question political candidates what they intended doing about legislation that has wreaked havoc on our communities by allowing repeat offenders to be recycled by a very criminal friendly legal system.
"We believe the first responsibility of any Government is the safety of its law-abiding citizens, sadly the well being of criminals has been put before the safety of the public over recent years."
"The DVD has had an amazing response and we believe will be influential in making New Zealand a much safer society for us all."
