Law and order revolution gains momentum

It appears a people’s revolution is under way as Mayors around New Zealand plan public rallies to give them a mandate to take a tough stance on law and order.

There was standing room only as over 1000 concerned residents flocked into the Taupo Great Lake Centre to attend a Law and Order meeting sponsored by the Taupo Council and the Sensible Sentencing Trust.

Now other regions appear to be following the example of Taupo Mayor Rick Cooper, with Calum Penrose the Mayor of Papakura announcing he is planning a Law and Order March on the 12th April.

Sensible Sentencing Trust spokesman Garth McVicar said he had been approached by a number of other regions wanting to organize their own public rallies.

"It appears to me that a peoples revolution is under way. Crime and safety has become the number one concern for the public. 1000 people in Taupo is huge and means that the Sensible Sentencing Trust is connecting directly to the people, the liberals and spin doctors can say what they want but people have had enough of the level of crime and violence on our streets."

Safety on the streets and Law and Order will dictate who the next Government is Mr McVicar said, "People have made up their minds, they have had enough of the soft-on-crime policies that are simply recycling criminals and allowing them to be released on Bail or Parole to run amok on the streets.”

5 percent of the Taupo population attending a public meeting should send a loud and clear message to all politicians wanting to be part of the next Government; this equates to approximately 63,000 Aucklanders and means that this issue will decide the next Government.
