Self employed mechanic Kevin Bernard Kain admitted 12 representative sex offences against a young girl. Kain pleaded guilty to four charges of attempted rape, four of unlawful sexual connection and four of indecent assault on a girl under 12. The court was told Kain had used the girl as a "sex toy" and the offending had been a breach of trust of a relationship Kain had had with the victims' family. The offending had had a serious and ongoing effect on the victim and she had attempted suicide.
