A man convicted of two rape charges at an Auckland trial held in his absence has been jailed indefinitely. Pravin Kumar, 41, was sentenced to preventive detention with a minimum non-parole period of seven years after a jury last year found him guilty of two charges of rape, two of kidnapping, one of assaulting a female and one of indecent assault.
