A man charged with raping a 10-year-old girl, will today reappear in the Whangarei District Court. 18-year-old Daniel Livingstone is also charged with unlawfully taking the girl, with intent to have sexual intercourse with her and threatening to kill. The charges relate to an incident in the suburb of Raumanga in April.

A teenager who admitted abducting and raping a 10-year-old girl in Whangarei as she walked home from school could be jailed indefinitely. Daniel Patrick Livingstone, 19, pleaded guilty to rape, abduction and threatening to kill. His case was transferred to the High Court, so preventive detention could be considered.
