His 14 year old victim was walking home when he ordered her into the bushes for two and a half hours of depravity. Psychiatrists said he fantasised for some time and he even told the girl he wanted her to get pregnant. Each time she had thought he had finished raping her he would force himself on her again. He also punched and slapped her throughout the attack. Martin expressed remorse for all the psychological damage he had inflicted on the girl and her family. Martin, originally from Christchurch, was sentenced in the Auckland high Court.
