Background
The former Mangere secondary school teacher pleaded guilty to three representative counts of indecent assault on a 14 year old boy. Miller had been jailed in 1991 for sex offences involving two other teenage boys. The court was told Miller had a predilection for young Polynesian boys from disadvantaged backgrounds who were easily manipulated by the gifts, trendy clothes and outings he showered on them.
