Background
From the Waikato Times 15/01/2008
Hamilton police are hunting a man wanted in connection with an alleged serious sexual assault. Detective Constable Brian Williamson said Raymond Lance Moa, 36, of Hamilton, was wanted in connection with an incident on December 30.
Moa had been on the run since New Year's Eve.
A warrant for his arrest had been issued in relation to the alleged sex attack in addition to a second warrant issued for an earlier breach of community work.
Moa is described as Maori, 170cm tall, of medium build with short black hair and a goatee beard. Originally from Gisborne, Moa is believed to be still in the Hamilton area but he may be anywhere between Auckland and Poverty Bay. Mr Williamson said investigators believed he was actively avoiding them. "We are very keen to hear from anyone who may know of Moa's whereabouts in light of the seriousness of the alleged offence," Mr Williamson said.
