Background
Convicted in October 1993 on two charges of unlawful sexual connection with a minor, two charges of performing an indecent act on a child aged three and two charges of inducing a child aged three years to perfom an indecent act on him. The charges related to a period between March 1990 and July 1991. In June 1993 Pinkerton pleaded guilty to two charges of of offering money to boys aged 11 and 12 to induce them to perform indecent acts for him between July and September 1991. Sentenced in the Hamilton High Court in November 1993 to three and a half years imprisonment. Conviction upheld by the Court of Appeal.
