Information from The New Zealand Paedophile and Sex Offender Index, New 2004 Edition
Simpson went to a house occupied by a woman and 2 children and held a knife to the sleeping woman's throat. When she awoke he threatened her and the children, caressed her and then left without assaulting her further. Simpson (who was sentenced by the New Plymouth High Court) lost an appeal against the sentence in September 1994
