The first complainant met Stacey via a telephone dating service. The first complainant who was a high school student at the time claimed to be 18. They began a sexual relationship. At some time around Easter 2006 the first complainant's father spoke to this offender and told him of the first complainant's age and warned that if he did not stop seeing her the family would go to the police.

Despite that warning this offender continued his relationship with the first complainant having sexual intercourse with her two or three times a week. The sexual relationship included one incident of group sex with the first complainant and her friend (the second complainant).

Stacey picked the first complainant and second complainant up and took them to the address of an associate. Stacey and his associate supplied the complainants with alcohol. Stacey and his friend each then had intercourse with both complainants at the same time and on the same bed. This offender subsequently sought to terminate the relationship but the first complainant wanted to continue the relationship.

On one occasion this offender took the first complainant back to his address and had vaginal intercourse with her for a short time before inserting his penis or another object held by him into her anus. The first complainant was injured as a result, she suffered bleeding from her anus and had to seek medical attention.
