Sensible Sentencing Trust
Garth and Anne McVicar started the Trust in 2001 as an outcome of the Mark Middleton case, with the help of a number of other New Zealanders dedicated to putting the legal system to rights so that the victim comes before the offender. Garth and the other key people are profiled here, with links to articles and opinion pieces by each person. All of these people work voluntarily, no-one here is paid!
Garth McVicar and his lovely wife Anne live in Mohaka, Napier on their farm, along with one of their four daughters. Garth has written the vast bulk of the press releases, along with much material for the newsletters. Garth is also our National spokesman

Wendy Pedler our hardworking National Secretary, lives in Napier with her husband, and runs the head office in Napier along with Anne and Christine. She works with Anne in putting together the Newsletters and maintaining the membership database. She also deals with all the correspondence through the office.

Ross Crosby became a member of SST in 2004. He is a New Zealander by birth but currently resident in Australia. He is an Assistant to the webmaster and Offender Databases Researcher and auditor. He provides the bulk of the data for the Offender Databases, along with ensuring that the data is checked and kept updated, an absolutely immense and growing task. He is also a specialist in community protection from sexual predators and online protection from sexual predators as well as having an interest in prisoner rehabilitation and reintegration

Law and Order
Alan Monk is a former Police Officer who joined SST in 2005 and now assists at the Napier head office with writing and research of submissions, and administrative work.
Peter Jenkins is the webmaster and also manages the Offender Databases in conjunction with Ross. He lives in in Central Auckland and works as a Network Engineer to pay the mortgage.
